First week of October is a week of extremes: Mars square Jupiter on the 3rd can indicate a tendency to over-egg the pudding when it comes to taking action. But on the 6th communication planet Mercury meets limitation planet Saturn, which indicates a minimising or limiting feeling around connections.

The 7th is uber-romantic and ultra-sociable … Love Goddess Venus all comfy and cosy in her own sign of Libra reaches a harmony (trine) aspect with Neptune, the planet known for wearing rose-tinted spectacles. Basically, it’s perfect astro weather for dating, especially blind dating as its an aspect where like attracts like and matches are made in heaven. And even more so with Venus moving into the sexy and seductive sign of Scorpio on the 9th.

The full moon on the 12th is in the impulsive sign of Aries, it means emotional responses are immediate on the one hand, but because the sun stands next to law-abiding Saturn, in the opposing sign of Libra, there might be a bit of second guessing going on around moving forward in situations… Aries loves to rush in where angels fear to tread, while Saturn argues for limitations.

Happily, there’s a good balancing aspect between Mercury and Neptune on the 12th too, indicating a strong easy link between logic and imagination – it’s easier to see beyond current limitations when this aspect is in force.

On the 13th Mercury moves into detective mode, when it shifts signs into Scorpio… and as Venus sextiles Pluto at the same time, it’s likely that conversations deepen, information is revealed, and relationships, especially romantic ones blossom in intimacy.

This theme continues with Venus opposing Jupiter on the 14th for an expansion of intimacy and trust in all relationships, and Mercury sextile Pluto on the 16th again deepens the emotional side of communication and connections, and increases the urge to reveal true nature and true self when Mercury reaches the opposition to Jupiter on the 17th. The earth and water blend of the signs involved (Taurus and Scorpio) mean this is likely to be a particularly sensual and emotional time.

On the 21st there’s a fabulous meeting of Sun in Libra and Neptune in Aquarius; this is a day for day-dreaming, a time for creative visualisation, as the Sun sheds positive light on Neptune’s wishes and fantasises. What seemed impossible a short time ago seems much more possible now.

On the 23rd the sun moves into Scorpio for the next month, and from the 25th there’s more sexy seduction in store when Mars in Leo squares Venus and Mercury in Scorpio. Often a square aspect between planets indicates challenges and friction, but between Mars and Venus it’s only ever about rubbing each other up in all the right ways, initially through communication in this instance, with Mercury’s involvement in the mix.

This makes for a fabulous build up to the new moon in Scorpio on the 26th. This new moon opposes Jupiter in Taurus, which ideally blends new intentions with the ability to expand and develop the opportunities that are never far away when Jupiter is around.

As it’s an opposition aspect, there’s the challenge to keep a balanced perspective through the process of this… keeping things in perspective is the key to Jupiter’s energy – not too realistic to be pessimistic, not overly optimistic in a way that defies your own beliefs about what’s possible. Jupiter also trines (harmonises) with Pluto at this time, which indicates this is a superb time for transformation and expansion.

The strength and stability of this new moon aspect looks likely to overshadow a niggly square between Venus/Mercury and Neptune on the 31st. Communication is prone to misunderstandings, silence, absence, or confusion. Not the best of times to be signing contracts or trying to suss out the competition; or to be finding lost objects, but it’s a temporary dip of energy in an otherwise super-powered end to the month.
