The Joy Luck Club – Your Amazing Jupiter Cycle!

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and the ruler of Sagittarius. In astrology, Jupiter is associated with luck, sudden windfalls, expansion, rewards and larger than life people and experiences. Anything to do with Jupiter has to do with SIZE. Nothing that happens will be on a small scale!

Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to orbit the sun. Therefore it will spend a year in each sign of the zodiac during this orbit and once every 12 years it will return to the point in the sky where it was the day you were born. This is a very auspicious time and is known as your Jupiter return.

When we have our Jupiter return this is our time to shine, think big and go for it! During your Jupiter return you may see many wishes and dreams – maybe goals you even thought were out of reach, manifest. It can really feel as if Lady Luck is shining down on you and while nothing just falls into our laps without us putting in an effort, it may seem to others that is just what is happening to you when you hit this cycle! No matter what problems we may be facing, Jupiter may not eradicate them, but he will certainly smooth the path for us.

When we talk about Jupiter we can’t not talk about Sagittarius and during a Jupiter cycle you may find yourself dealing with Sagittarian-type themes. For those of you who aren’t Sagittarians and may not be familiar with the themes, these include travel, larger than life people, foreigners, sports, the outdoors, the law, anything to do with ‘mass’ – i.e.: mass communications, mass media, speculative ventures, large animals – larger than a dog, philosophy and higher education, or else you may find significant opportunities present themselves in these areas.

I don’t know how many of you saw the film Avatar? The film itself is filled with astrological imagery which I will write more about another time. What interested me most as an astrologer was that the planet the moon Pandora orbited was very Jupiter-like –although it had a blue spot rather than a red one. The large animals we saw on Pandora were certainly very Jupiterian/Sagittarian and what is more, it had been 12 years (a full Jupiter cycle), since director James Cameron released his last film – which was of course, Titanic. Both films have been the highest grossing movie of all time. A perfect example of a Jupiter cycle being lived out in real life.

However, the good news is you don’t have to wait 12 years to reap Jupiter’s rewards. Whenever Jupiter moves to make a positive aspect in our charts we can expect wonderful things to start happening. Jupiter conjunct your natal sun could bring you that career breakthrough you’ve been waiting for while Jupiter moving into your seventh house of marriage and partnerships could usher in that big romance and wedding you’ve always dreamed of! So, we constantly benefit from Jupiter’s wonderful influence throughout his 12 year journey around the sun.

Knowing when Jupiter will be positively placed in our personal charts is the key to being ready to take advantage of Jupiter’s generosity. A one-to-one consultation with one of our gifted astrologers will reveal just when Jupiter will next shine his light of generosity and expansion your way! What’s more, you don’t need your time of birth. Although having your time of birth allows an astrologer to see what section of your chart Jupiter will be active in, its not necessary for this type of reading, so don’t but put off if you don’t have that information – tap into your Jupiter and discover the path of expansion and new opportunities that’s just waiting for you to explore!
