Have you ever wondered about the fact that the word ‘evolve’ contains the word ‘love’ spelt backwards? If we have progress without love we take a retrograde step – the message here is that in order to truly evolve we must combine evolution with love.

This week brings us all the opportunity to do just that as Venus planet of love, enters the sign of Sagittarius on the 17th. Sagittarius is about far more than just happy-go-lucky adventuring. The philosopher/traveller of the zodiac is also the wounded healer. We can only heal others or empathise with them when we understand how we have been wounded ourselves. This is where compassion begins.

On the 21st the Sun enters Capricorn and we arrive at the much-anticipated (some would say dreaded but I don’t subscribe to that!) 21.12.2012. This is the start of a soul-shifting era where we begin to understand that in order to evolve we have to combine progress with love, respect and understanding. On the 21st a very intense and special alignment occurs known as a Yod (or ‘The Finger of God’). Saturn ruler of karma in transformational Scorpio and Pluto in structured Capricorn both make what is known as a quincunx to the ruler of Sagittarius – expansive Jupiter in Gemini. Let’s look at this closely. Jupiter is a planet that wants to expand and open things up. Gemini is a sign of duality. Scorpio is the sign of transformation but Saturn likes the status-quo. Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio but is in Saturn’s own sign of structure-loving Capricorn. We may see some soul-shifting events occur in one level of the global consciousness while others resist this calling out of a fear of change.

As individuals, it is all up to us to either ignore the soul-calling or else make a choice to embrace it in our own individual but significant way. There is nothing to fear in change – it is change only! On the 23rd, Venus in Sagittarius will make an opposition to Jupiter in Gemini. It’s all about seeing the beauty of your individuality and that in others. Be yourself – don’t imitate other people. By aligning with this you become part of the shift. The message to all of us this week is – be grateful for who you are and be the change you want to see in the world.
